Gradient Counselling was established in the Barossa Valley to offer supportive, evidence-informed counselling grounded in psychological science and human connection. It’s counselling Barossa can trust.

  • The name Gradient reflects growth, balance, and the steady movement of life — each person progressing along their own unique path at their own pace.

The practice provides a calm, confidential space for reflection and change. Sessions are practical, empathetic, and designed to meet people where they are — whether that’s online, in person, or through a visit-to-you service in the Barossa Valley and surrounding areas.

Gradient Counselling is built on a commitment to accessibility, professionalism, and ongoing learning. Each session integrates evidence-based methods from psychology with genuine curiosity, warmth, and respect for individual experience.

  • Support is available for a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, anger, grief, self-esteem, and relationship (including couples therapy) or family challenges. Sessions also offer space for growth, motivation, and performance-focused coaching for those pursuing creativity, personal excellence, or new direction in life.

The practice continues to evolve alongside current research, postgraduate training, and client experience — maintaining a focus on both science and humanity in the therapeutic process.

  • Gradient Counselling is designed to grow.

It has been established as a professional framework open to practitioners who share the same values of empathy, evidence, and integrity.

The goal is to build a collaborative environment where counsellors can work independently yet remain connected through shared ethics and commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

Each member of the Gradient team will bring their own strengths and areas of focus — united by a common approach grounded in psychological science, compassion, and respect for every client’s story.

Gradient’s foundation opens a space for honest conversation, personal growth, and practical support through all stages of life.

    Approach and Values

Andrew’s practice philosophy is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and the belief that meaningful change happens through understanding — not judgment. He draws from cognitive, behavioural, and relational approaches while maintaining flexibility to adapt methods to each client’s needs and preferences.

He continues to expand his clinical skillset through postgraduate supervision, ongoing APS professional development, and real-world client experience.

Outside the counselling room, Andrew is an endurance athlete, writer, and lifelong learner. His interests in performance, motivation, and creativity inform a holistic understanding of wellbeing — connecting the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of human potential.
